About the Role
Contract: Permanent, Term Time, Part-Time
Hours: 24 hours per week across 4 days
- Tuesday: 8.00am – 3.00pm
- Thursday: 8.00am – 3.00pm
- Saturday: 1.30pm – 7.30pm
- Sunday: 1.30pm – 7.30pm
Please note:This role includes regular weekend working (Saturday and Sunday).
Salary: £12.21 per hour
Start Date: Immediate start available
As a Catering Assistant, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of our catering provision, supporting meal preparation, service, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals for pupils and staff
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and health and safety at all times
- Supporting the catering team to keep kitchen and dining areas clean, tidy and safe
- Assisting with washing up, cleaning and general kitchen duties
- Helping with stock rotation and basic food storage
- Working collaboratively to deliver an efficient and friendly service during school meals and weekend boarding provision
About You: We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience in a catering or food service environment (desirable but not essential)
- Demonstrates good standards of hygiene and food safety
- Works well as part of a team and shows initiative
- Is reliable, flexible and comfortable with weekend working
- Can engage with pupils and staff in a friendly and professional manner
- Understands the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding in a school setting
