We are seeking a Catering Assistant to support the smooth and efficient running of our school catering service, helping to ensure our pupils, boarders and staff enjoy nutritious, high-quality meals each day. About the Role

Contract: Permanent, Term Time, Part-Time

Hours: 24 hours per week across 4 days

• Tuesday: 8.00am – 3.00pm
• Thursday: 8.00am – 3.00pm
• Saturday: 1.30pm – 7.30pm
• Sunday: 1.30pm – 7.30pm

Please note:This role includes regular weekend working (Saturday and Sunday).

Salary: £12.21 per hour

Start Date: Immediate start available

As a Catering Assistant, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of our catering provision, supporting meal preparation, service, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals for pupils and staff
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and health and safety at all times
• Supporting the catering team to keep kitchen and dining areas clean, tidy and safe
• Assisting with washing up, cleaning and general kitchen duties
• Helping with stock rotation and basic food storage
• Working collaboratively to deliver an efficient and friendly service during school meals and weekend boarding provision

About You: We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience in a catering or food service environment (desirable but not essential)
• Demonstrates good standards of hygiene and food safety
• Works well as part of a team and shows initiative
• Is reliable, flexible and comfortable with weekend working
• Can engage with pupils and staff in a friendly and professional manner
• Understands the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding in a school setting
