100% pass rate and over a third of grades A*/A for Trinitonians in Unprecedented A Level Year

19th August 2020

In what was an unusual and unique year for A level students it is finally fantastic to report that, as anticipated, Trinitonians rose to the challenge with a tremendous set of grades and equally impressive university destinations. Whilst the final exam may not have been sat, the superb outcomes are the result of continuous hard work, support and aspiration throughout their Sixth Form lives.

We are delighted to announce that the pass rate for all A levels and BTEC exams taken this year was 100%. Trinity saw an increase on last year for those getting the highest grades with over a third of all A levels taken at Trinity receiving an A* or A grade.

Our Year 13 Trinitonians head off to a wide variety of destinations, from Janav who received two A* and an A in Psychology, Business Studies and English and will be studying Law at Warwick University, to Oliver who after achieving an impressive B, B, B in the three Sciences will be heading to Exeter University to study Biochemistry. Head Girl Dream will be studying Business Management with Law at Manchester Metropolitan University after receiving B, C, C.

Headmaster Lawrence Coen was delighted with the news:

“Well done to our 2020 Year 13 cohort who have excelled despite challenging circumstances never-before-seen. The range of talents in this group is shown by the wide variety of university destinations; highlighting the impact of our individual approach.

The circumstances of the last six months have put tremendous pressure on our A level students, and this was only made worse by the uncertainty and lack of clarity of the last week. We will continue to ensure that these Trinitonians have the support of the school during these unique times.”
