Sixth Form is an exciting, dynamic and challenging time in so many ways. For many students this is the first time they ask themselves “Who do I want to be?”, “What do I want to do in life?”, and “How do I get there?”.
The next two years is the start of an amazing journey which will see our students challenged in many areas of life; both within and outside of school they will be exposed to opportunities and experiences that will enrich and encourage them to question and debate. They are not alone in this transition period and will have a dedicated Sixth Form Team working with them, fine-tuning and refining their experience to help them realise their talent as well as raising their expectations and aspirations.
There is a huge range of subjects on offer at Sixth which are accessible to all students depending on their interests, aptitudes and ambitions.
Class sizes are generally small with the optimal size being between 5-10 students. This gives students outstanding levels of staff contact and allows a strong partnership to develop resulting in students achieving their full potential.
Learning and student support do not only happen in timetabled lessons; indeed, access to staff is outstanding with extra support available during the school day in optional clubs and after school as teaching staff are integral to our dynamic boarding community.
Sixth Form is however so much more than just an academic challenge and we believe in a holistic approach to education. This is where we believe we are different as a Trinity Sixth Former is an individual with many dimensions and our aim is to expose and develop those talents and attributes that will push our students to the top of their chosen fields. Universities and Employers are looking for more than just a talented academic person; they require a rounded personality who has experience in many areas of life which will enrich their contribution to the work place or university. Accordingly, career guidance and support through the university entrance process is crucial throughout this phase of the students’ time at Trinity.
The opportunities available at Trinity make our students stand out from the crowd when it comes to the next hurdle. Students will have different goals and aspirations and supporting and developing these is part of our challenge.
