Trinity Prep pupils turn on the Christmas lights!

1st December 2014

‘On behalf of the Mayor, Councillor Dave Matthews, many thanks for submitting designs for the Mayor’s Christmas Card competition. The standard of entries was very high and the Mayor had an extremely hard task in selecting the winners. It has been decided that the Christmas card will feature the winner’s design on the front cover and the designs of four runners-up on the back cover. I am pleased to inform you that the winning designs are by:

Lilly Mazer – winner (front cover)

Madeleine Brenner – runner up

Victoria Syms – runner up

The Mayor would like to invite the children to help him turn on the Christmas Lights in the Triangle on Saturday, 29th November at 5.45pm (for switch on at 6pm).'

And so it was that our 3 Prep pupils found themselves up on stage in the centre of Teignmouth ready to turn on Teignmouth’s Christmas tree lights, with Lilly as overall winner, and Madeleine and Victoria being 2 of the runners up for the Mayor's Christmas Card Competition. This was a fantastic achievement as there had been over 300 entries. As Mrs Eaton-Jones, our Head of Prep Department says, ‘It was a lovely evening. Our 3 winners joined in the countdown with the mayor and then 'hit the buzzer' to turn the Christmas Christmas tree lights on. It was also great to see lots of Trinity pupils there to celebrate the occasion.’
