Spooky Friday and Fright Night charity activities raise £815

13th November 2014

In an amazing day of fund raising, Trinity has out done itself again. In one single day, a series of events which included Cake Sales, an Auction of Prefects, a boarders party, a non-uniform Spooky Friday, and a Fright Night 6th form disco, the school community raised no less than £815!

This included an ongoing collection towards the main event: a multiple Ice Bucket Challenge, featuring soakings of the student Heads of School, Callum Reade and Ellie Fowler; Head of Sixth Form, Mr Acher; Deputy Head, Mr Coen, followed by the ultimate 'headline act', a chilly dowsing of the Headmaster, Mr Waters.  A further report and photos of the 'icings' will follow soon!

The proceeds will be donated to 2 worthy charities:

Crisis - a UK national charity for single homeless people, ‘dedicated to ending homelessness by delivering life-changing services and campaigning for change’.

Calabash Trust – a charity that supports projects aimed at improving nutrition, education and enterprise among underprivileged communities in the Port Elizabeth area of South Africa.

As Mr Acher says, ‘We have raised a serious amount of money for two deserving causes, and I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated, was patient or just encouraged our learners to get involved.’
