Prep Department host Rotary Junior Speaks Finals

The Prep Department hosted the annual Rotary Junior Speaks Finals on Tuesday. Every pupil from Year 4, 5 and 6 gave a speech for four minutes over three afternoons in front of a panel of Rotarians from Teignmouth Rotary Club.

Fifteen finalists were selected to perform in front of parents, staff and Rotarians as well as The President of the Rotary Club of Teignmouth, Mr J Webber. Congratulations to Omar Wilson for winning the Year 4 category with a talk on Triathlons and Gwen Oswald for coming runner-up with her talk on Zebras, to Finlay McGregor for winning the Year 5 group with his talk on Weather and Daisy Brenner for being runner-up with a talk on Hungarian Vizsla Dogs, and finally to Lucas Randall for winning the Year 6 group with a talk on the Devon Wildlife Trust and to Grace Davis for being runner-up with her talk on the Erb’s Palsy Group. Grace also won the Brian Wedgewood Trophy for the most entertaining talk of the evening.

Many thanks to Teignmouth Rotary Club for their tireless efforts in organising this event and for generously donating a cheque to Lucas’ winning charity the Devon Wildlife Trust.
