Old Trinitonian visit for BTEC Sport and Sixth Form Pupils

4th October 2019

This afternoon former Convent of Notre Dame and Trinity School pupil Cat Whiteaway came in to speak to pupils about her study and work experiences.

Having studied a sports degree, Cat spoke to BTEC Sport pupils from Year 10 – 12 about her time at university, her initial interest in pursuing a career in sport and her experience of being a Senior Lecturer in Exercise Psychology.

Later on Cat spoke to all pupils in Year 11 – 13 about being the UCAS Admissions tutor while lecturing, where she was able to give students a greater understanding of the initial process and of university life. All were very grateful for Cat's time as they continue to plan their future academic and career paths.

Cat initially attended the Convent of Notre Dame from 1970 until 1980 by which time the school had become Trinity. She credited her early experiences with inspiring her future career choices, and now works as a researcher in family history and appears on programmes such as The One Show.
