ISA National finals in Netball, Rugby and Cross Country: determined performances against strong competition
24th March 2015
It has been a busy month of competition in several sports, especially at the national level, with a number of our teams and individual students having qualified to represent the South West. All these events have been characterised by determined performances by our students, against some really strong competition.
In the under 16 Boys Rugby finals, the boys put in a great effort and produced performances beyond expectations. We won our pool beating Stoke College, ACS ‘B’ team and Mark College before moving on to a really tough game against the ACS ‘A’ team. This ended in our first defeat and put us through to the Plate competition semi-finals. In a thoroughly competitive game the players kept their heads, even when things were going against them. The final result was a loss of 31 – 19 to St James but the team can be massively proud of their achievements at the competition, scoring over 20 tries and showing real cohesion and unity. Well done to them all!
Well done also to the under 16 and under 18 Girls Netball teams, who played at the ISA National Netball Tournament in High Wycombe. They too were up against some stiff opposition but played hard throughout and never gave up.
And finally another ‘well done’ to the numerous Trinity students who represented the South West at the National ISA Cross Country Championships, held recently at Princethorpe College in Warwickshire. Special congratulations to Dan Williams who finished in the top ten in the Senior Boys.
