International students see the UK in miniature
30th June 2017
As part of our Curriculum Enrichment week, Mr Cole and Mrs Palmer took 8 international pupils from Year 10 to Babbacombe Model Village, Torquay. The misty, wet weather was a fitting backdrop to the students gaining a fascinating insight into daily life in the UK over the last 50 years.
Our visit included a clip of a 4-D film with moving seats and action so close we felt we could reach out and touch it!
Another highlight was that West Country delicacy and national favourite, the Devon Cream Tea. Almost all the pupils tried one, and as the photo confirms, some students spread cream on top of jam, and some preferred jam on top of cream, mirroring the age-old controversy as to which is 'correct'. That particular debate may be unresolved but what was the students' verdict on the Cream Tea? They loved it and asked where they could buy Clotted Cream!
