Teignmouth - A Coastal Gem

Teignmouth is a popular destination for holidays as a result of its combination of stunning location and accessibility. It is surrounded by wooded hills and located at the seaward end of the picturesque Teign estuary, on a stretch of coastline dominated by the spectacular cliffs of Devon Red Sandstone.

The sea is clean, being both popular for bathing and a centre for fishing. River Teign mussels are known as being of exceptional quality!

Being a small town in a region renowned for its peacefulness, Teignmouth is a safe and pleasant place in which to live and work. It is, nevertheless, very well connected and therefore the culture and excitement of city life are readily accessible, be it in historic Exeter (20 minutes), maritime Plymouth (40 minutes) or even London (under 3 hours by direct train).

There are many things to do in Teignmouth, some for day trips, others for those who live here. Surfing can be good when the wind is right, sailing is popular, sea rowing is a local obsession and the town often hosts events such as music and drama festivals, or art exhibitions.

Here is a selection of links to give some idea of the variety here:
