Social Side of Sixth Form @ Trinity

The Sixth Form social calendar is a busy and vibrant programme, driven by the students and the Prefect Team.  These events are vital in developing our community and giving students an avenue to wind down and relax from the stresses of the working week.  There is a core of at least 10 events that we put on and students will also add new events depending on their particular interests.  A typical year may look like:

September: start of year Disco on the first Friday night of term

October: themed quiz night with a buffet (2012&13 – Oktoberfest, 2011 – Oscars, 2010 – Mexican)Social image

November: Fright Night (Fancy Dress, Karaoke & Disco event)

December: Prefect Christmas Social and Minced Pies & Mulled Wine in the Sixth Form Centre

January: Big Night out – exploring the food from around the bay

February: Valentines Ball (Black Tie Event with champagne reception and sit down dinner)

March: Prefect Dinner (Black Tie Dinner with a guest speaker hosted by the Headmaster)

Sixth Form Film Festival – 8 films in 4 venues with a buffet in the middle

Early June: Summer Beach BBQ and Games

Late June: Sixth Form Summer Ball (Black Tie event at a local hotel on the coast)

Social imageStudent-driven initiatives on top of these events have included International Food Fairs, Trinity Olympics and Charity events such as selling roses for Valentine’s Day and Christmas candy canes.

All events are supervised by our staff who give up their evenings and free time to support and co-ordinate events.  This is a wonderful example of the dedication of the Sixth Form and Boarding Teams supporting our dynamic students’ initiative and energy.
