Welcome to Sixth Form Physical Education & Sport
The aims of the Department of Physical Education and Sport:
βTo provide each student with a physical education experience based on active participation
and enjoyment.β
(Trinity School Handbook, 2008 β Department of PE and Sport)
At Trinity School, all Sixth Form students have the opportunity to participate in
a wide range of activities in their dedicated PE afternoon. These activities range
from squad training for school teams, to more recreational sports. A Level PE has
run for ten years now, with many students following their study of sport through
to university.
Extra Curricular
A huge range of extra-curricular sports clubs are on offer for those wishing to
develop their skills further. In addition to Inter-House and Inter-School competitions,
teams are regularly enter in national competitions such as the ISA netball finals,
cross country, swimming, athletics and the Rosslyn Park rugby sevens tournaments.
Students are also encouraged to push their own limits with annual activities on
Dartmoor and an Adventure week in West Wales. Links with local clubs are actively
developed and many pupils enjoy the benefits of this.
Exam Results
2008 saw half the A Level students gain an A or B grade. Will Hatch, A2 PE student,
received special congratulations in the local press for achieving 100% in 2 of the
2008 PE modules β Will has gone on to Birmingham University to study Sports Science.
