The role of the EAL department is twofold: to improve pupils’ knowledge, skills and confidence in the English language and to enable them to better access the rest of their GCSE, AS or A2 curriculum in English through study skills and subject-related support. To this end, we have a team of experienced teachers who have not only taught here in the UK, but also overseas. Every year we help around 70 – 80 students of many different nationalities to improve their English here at Trinity School.
The EAL department has three dedicated teaching rooms adjacent to each other

Extra-curricular activities in department
We take international students on day trips to a nearby town, city or place of interest each half term. As most of our students are boarders, they live in the school and can take part in a wide range of social, sporting and cultural activities all year round.
