Learning Success At The Prep Department
Trinity School

Welcome to Prep Learning Success
We are here to support the learning of any child who is experiencing difficulties
in acquiring basic Literacy and Numeracy skills. We offer specialist teaching for
a variety of Special Educational Needs including Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia,
Asperser’s Syndrome, and ADHD.
Referrals can come from class teachers or directly from parents who are concerned
about particular areas of their children’s progress. Which lessons the children
are withdrawn from is decided in consultation with parents.
Aims and Curriculum
We aim to provide children throughout the Prep Department with whatever help and
support they need to enable them to access the wider curriculum, see themselves
as successful learners and thus find the whole school experience a happy and fulfilling
one.
Results
Assessment is carried out twice a year to measure progress in the areas of Reading,
Spelling and Comprehension. There is regular contact with parents on both a formal
and informal basis.
Extra Curricular Activities
Sometimes it is necessary to hold classes after school in club time. This can be
due to lack of space in the timetable, a shortage of appropriate lessons that parents
wish their children to be withdrawn from, or even by parental request so that no
lessons are missed during the day.
