Welcome to Prep Art
The Art Department helps children to develop creativity, artistic technique and basic use of materials from an early age.

Aims and Curriculum
In the Prep Department we teach Art and Design to all pupils from Reception to Year 6 for 1 hour per week. An art specialist teaches the subject. We teach children to enjoy and understand the subject by exploring and developing ideas, investigating and making art and craft design, evaluating and developing work and developing knowledge and understanding.

The department uses many different methods and materials to encourage and help the pupils to develop their ideas. We organise workshops with local artists, visits to museums and galleries and follow the National Curriculum for Art and Design.

Extra Curricular
There are three Art Clubs run during the week for Reception Years 1 and 2, Years 3 and 4 and Years 5 and 6.
