Prep Assemblies

"A time to contemplate, celebrate and concentrate the mind….."

Assembly time provides an essential opportunity to set the tone of the day. The children are inspired on a spiritual level with hymns, prayers and a message based on the theme for the fortnight. It is also a time to celebrate all kinds of successes and for children to experience the special Trinity togetherness that pervades the school.

Pupils sing with great enthusiasm and are accompanied by the piano and occasionally the recorder group. There is a weekly hymn practice and once a term each class leads an assembly. The final session of the week is a special event when parents of children who have been awarded ‘Work of the Week’ are invited to join us. Every three weeks a raffle is held where all the children who have been awarded tickets for good manners, showing initiative and for being generally good citizens, can draw out a ticket and select a prize.

We usually celebrate assemblies in Oakley Hall, but also enjoy using the School Chapel. One highlight of the year is our annual 'Tent Event' when the whole School (Nursery to Sixth Form) gathers together in the marquee on the Tuesday before Speech Day.

After a wonderful opportunity to  enjoy some spiritual reflection, Prep assemblies usually finish with a lively 'Wake and Shake' session, to get us ready to go back to our learning!
