The Nursery Units
Trinity School
3 Months to 2 Years
Nursery 1 is situated on the first floor and caters for babies from 3 months until
around the time of their second birthday. They have two play rooms, a messy play
room, dining room, sleep room, sensory room and changing room. Every effort is made
for the babies to use our outdoor facilities as often as possible whilst also allowing
a very flexible routine for every child.
2-3 Years
At around their second birthday children join Nursery 2, initially enjoying the
Stars room on the first floor and then moving to Rainbows on the ground floor. A
wide range of activities are offered to the children and, weather permitting, they
go outside everyday, using our free flow facilities so they can choose activities
set up inside and out.
3-4 Years
At around their third birthday children join Nursery 3. Carefully planned activities
ensure that children continue to learn through play whilst preparing for the transition
to school. They are introduced to the idea of wearing a uniform consisting of the
school polo shirt and sweatshirt. We use jolly phonics to lay the foundations for
learning to read. We encourage the children to become increasingly independent,
confident to speak in small groups and able to listen to each other. The children
can freely access a variety of activities set up within the three rooms and in our
outdoor classroom.
Meal Times at Nursery
All our food is sourced from local suppliers and cooked on the premises by our cook
and her assistant. Four-week rolling menus are updated frequently to cater for the
children’s tastes and all dietary requirements can be met. For more information
