The Nursery Units

“I am very happy with the nursery and so pleased my children attend. I think they gain a lot from it and I am completely happy with the environment which makes it much easier for me to leave them to go to work.”

The Baby Room

This unit of the Nursery has a large play room, a sleep room, a changing room and a food preparation area.

The babies enjoy a wide variety of toys which are changed regularly and activities such as painting, sand and water play.

Whilst catering for the individual routine of each baby every effort is made to take them outside as often as possible. This includes walks in the extensive grounds of Trinity School.

From around 18 months old children join Stars which is situated on the first floor. Here they have a play room, a messy play room, a physical activity room,a communications room, a dining room and a nappy changing/toileting room.

A wide range of toys and activities are offered to the children, including a story corner, home corner, dressing up, sand, water, painting and block play. Weather permitting they go outside every day.

From around 2.5 years old children join Rainbows which is situated on the ground floor. This area has its own toilets and cloakroom. It has a large playroom which has a story corner, home corner and areas for art and design, play dough, mark making, mathematics and I.C.T.

For much of the day, weather permitting a "free-flow" system is in place to the outdoor classroom allowing the children to choose to be inside or out. Excellent use is also made of the extensive grounds of Trinity School for walks and physical activities on the various playgrounds.

Usually just after their 3rd Birthday children join Pre Prep. They are now eligible for 15 hours of grant funded time.

Their learning through play is supported by an Early Years Professional and a team of very experienced Nursery Nurses. Again a "free flow" system to the outdoor classroom is in place. Our aim is to prepare the children for moving on to school and we work very closely with the Prep Dept. This includes regular visits to the Reception class and sessions with specialist art and drama teachers.
