Autumn Term

The children have enjoyed helping clear the Autumn leaves

Throughout the nursery, the children have been enjoying multi sensory activities

Pre Prep children have enjoyed listening to the story of The Three Little Pigs with the help of puppets. They have also explored building houses with straw, sticks and bricks.

We are very grateful to a nursery parent Gill Dyer and to STILL Materials Handling LTD for providing us with smart hi-vis jackets for both staff and children which will ensure we are very visible and safe on trips out and will also enhance the children's role play.

 Summer Term

Parents and children enjoyed the Royal photo booth set up for our fun day and Royal street party in honour of the Queen's 90th Birthday.

The children have been busy doing their own portraits of the Queen to celebrate her birthday and a card designed by the children was sent to her Majesty. We were honoured to have received a card from the queen and a personal letter from her lady-in-waiting thanking the children.

We've had visits from goats to guniea pigs this term, and the children have loved learning how to look after them.

The children and staff have been busy building a new water run

When the road outside nursery was resurfaced, it may have inconvenienced the drivers amongst us but it fascinated the children!

The children enjoyed having a visit from our music and movement specialist Sarah Van Veen.

New equipment on the Prep playing field is proving to be very popular

The children have been busy celebrating and learning about St Davids and St Patrick's Day and some of the customs of Wales and Ireland.

Spring Term

This month at Nursery we have been celebrating Chinese New Year with a homecooked chinese meal and looking at the Year of the Monkey. We also celebrated Burns night learning the highland fling and designing our own Trinity tartan!

Valentines Day got the children talking about their loved ones and what nice things we can do for them. Parents were invited to join us for pancakes and races on Shrove Tuesday and the children in Pre Prep voted on their favourite topings.

The landing of a 771 Sea King helicopter on the school's playing field on 19th January meant that everyone at Nursery had a very exciting day! Being allowed to sit inside the helicopter was a very special treat and inspired lots of excited conversation from the children, especially to their parents at pick up time.

The children have also recently had the opportunity to meet and chat with Liz Francis our local PCSO and even try her hat on for size!

Recent activities have included:

The staff and children dressed up as their favourite characters in aid of Children in Need. Pre Prep children voted on the best dressed member of staff and Tinkerbell won! well done Georgia! We raised over £85 so thank you to all that donated.

The lovely Autumn weather has allowed the children plenty of opportunity to enjoy our new playhouse. Learning outdoors has been further enhanced by a set of wooden scales. "Trin" and "Ity" (our bears who like to go home and share experiences with the children) are just some of the objects chosen by the children to help them learn about weight and balance.
