Inspectors praise School’s outstanding features:

Trinity School “is successful in meeting its aims, notably in drawing out the best in each pupil” according to the latest inspection report from the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI). They state that the School offers “good overall provision with some features which are outstanding”.

Described as “an enthusiastic and friendly community”, the School was praised for its care of individuals, which the inspection team felt had been augmented and “remains a strength of the school.”

Headmaster, Tim Waters says, “We are delighted with this report. It confirms the strides that Trinity has made in recent years and clearly identifies that we are providing a good quality, rounded education with the focus being on developing an individual’s best qualities.”

The pupils were also praised, being described as “well grounded in knowledge and understanding”. Achievement was particularly notable in the Early Years, where it was described as “good and sometimes outstanding”. Pupils throughout the school are “confident, self-aware and clearly understand and respect the needs of others”.

Teaching was described as being of good quality, with the best being “stimulating, challenging and exciting”. Teaching at Trinity “seeks to bring out the individual pupils’ capabilities and give them confidence.” The relationship between pupils and staff was described as “strong”.

The report makes some recommendations that will allow Trinity to improve still further its good quality provision. These include the need to work for more pace and challenge in some teaching, clarification of Senior Management structures and a review of boarding provision. Tim Waters says, “these recommendations are useful pointers for future work. Two are already being tackled and given the high quality staff team that we have, I am confident that all of them will be picked off quickly and effectively.”

The ISI inspects independent schools every six years as part of the accreditation conditions for the Independent Schools Council. ISI inspections follow a standard framework agreed with the DCSF and OFSTED.
