Trinity Celebrate Harvest Festival
Pupils, Staff and Parents from Trinity Preparatory Department gathered at St Michael’s Church, Teignmouth, on Friday for their annual Harvest Festival service. It was a glorious autumn morning and their theme of Patterns in life brought an original slant to proceedings.
Some of the youngest pupils presented a short play about the pattern of the farmer’s year, while others recited poetry about the changing pattern of trees through the seasons. The older pupils reminded us about the patterns of the sky with an accomplished recitation of twinkle twinkle little star. A reminder of our local environment came from Prep 4 who looked at the pattern of the sea, while prep 3 built a rainbow as they talked about the colours of the harvest. In an unusual finale, Prep 5 screened a short film they had made about the patterns of destruction that affect the harvests around the world; a poignant reminder of how fortunate we are.
The donations of fresh fruit and vegetables will be distributed from the church this week. Thanks go to those who contributed to a retiring collection in aid of The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution.
