Headmaster's Response to Travel Problems
Dear Parents
The School is putting in place a swift response to the travel problems that our pupils have as follows:
In the next 36 hours we are setting up a location on our website where we will post work for pupils who are unable to return to us (UPDATE: see below for 'Work at Home').
This work will be returned by e-mail and will be set for completing by specific deadlines.
Marked work will be e-mailed back.
This will provide a basic framework for progress to be maintained over the next couple of weeks. We will explore ways of improving this further in the course of the next few days.
We are very concerned that some return flight dates offered by airlines are very late. We are trying to establish whether we can work with airlines to provide an alternative earlier return. This will, however, depend on numbers and maybe impossible to arrange. We will update you via the website and e-mail as this develops.
If pupils return so late that some important public examinations are missed, we will work with the exam boards in order to minimise the effect that this might have on pupils eventual results.
Further information will be posted on our website from now on at least every 48 hours and most likely daily.
Yours sincerely,
Tim Waters Headmaster
