Swimming Gala Success

Sixteen swimmers recently went up to West Buckland School for the second time this year to compete it a very close gala. Trinity’s U18 boys team, mainly Year 10 and 11 boys, treated the gala as training for the upcoming ISA National Finals. However, in the other areas we supplied strong teams.

The U18 Girls team produced some excellent displays but were up against some very good club swimmers at West Buckland School. Notably, Kim Weber Marks saw off the competition in the 50m butterfly and came close to her personal best. Becky Jones was involved in arguably the race of the day in the 100m breaststroke where the first 3 places were separated by 100th‘s of a second.

Overall, West Buckland won the U18 competition but had to fight hard to gain the advantage. The Trinity U13 boys’ team proved to be dominant in virtually all of their events, but again had to fight hard in every race.

The U13 girls competition was also very close with neither school completely dominating. In the end Trinity won the U13 competition by one point.

All of the swimmers gave a brilliant effort and the hard work they have put in recently is paying off.
