New Classrooms Opened in September 2005

Building work was completed for the final addition to the North Field Development in July 2005. The completed wing, named the Sutton Building, houses Art, English, Modern Foreign Language, English as an Additional Language and Learning Success Departments as well as providing a new Staff Common Room. These new classrooms link across to the Chris Penn Science Laboratories, opened in 1996, and now allows disabled access to all main teaching facilities.

This was the final stage of the whole development, costing almost £5million which was started in 1996.

The Future

A revised Development Plan is being formulated for the next 5 to 10 years, to take into account trends in independent education as a result of demographic changes and a declining birth rate. The following items are being considered.

This is likely to involve a further £5 million of expenditure over the next 5 to 10 years.
