Healthy Eating for Healthy Living
Trinity School
Catering and nutrition are very topical subjects. The information shown here will
help to answer some of your questions, providing you with the reassurance that your
child, whether a day or boarding pupil is fed a balanced nutritious diet throughout
their stay at Trinity.
The food on offer gives pupils the ability to make an educated, informed decision
when it comes to choosing their meal. We offer a wide range of healthy meal options
alongside traditional favourites. Younger pupils are encouraged to try new textures
and tastes, whilst older pupils can balance their nutritional intake through a wide
range of healthy meal options. Lunch is served in The Refectory, our main food service
area, and this is where pupils can help themselves to as much fresh vegetables and
cut fruit as they are able to eat.
In the Baguette Barn we offer freshly baked baguettes every day, jacket potatoes
with a choice of hot fillings, or freshly cooked pasta with a delicious sauce. There
are no restrictions on fresh vegetables and fresh fruit. Food intake is carefully
monitored to ensure all pupils receive the best possible nutrient balance for each
age group.
Healthy eating and nutrition play a vital part in our children’s physical and educational
development. Trinity’s approach to this is structured with its
Nutritional Healthy Eating
Policy
and integrates the policy into the curriculum at key stages throughout the
year groups. Links to our
current menus
are available on this website.
We have an “Open House” policy where we invite you to call in and share a meal with
the children when you will have the chance to relive some of your old school memories
and get a first hand appraisal of the level of service we offer. Alternatively,
if you have any questions you would like to ask, please contact the Catering Manager
on 01626 771508 or email
HealthyEating @ TrinitySchool.co.uk.
