Financial Information

Dear Parents

I hope the following brief notes on fees and extras will be helpful. Please do not hesitate to telephone if you have any questions or queries
Fees are inclusive. For parents of day pupils, we assume you will want your son or daughter to have school lunches. Insurances, school lunch and bus (day pupils only), musical instrument hire, public examinations fees and pocket money (boarders only) are normally billed in advance. All other extras will be shown on your invoice in arrears.

Finance
Holmwoods Termtime Collections offers a direct debit facility for a modest charge (please see attached information). Parents wishing to stagger the cost over the term may find this system useful. A leaflet is enclosed and should be returned as soon as possible. All insurances are optional.

Transport for day pupils
If you would like your son or daughter to use one of the school buses, details of which are on the reverse of the fees and charges list, please could you complete the slip at the bottom of this letter? Bus passes will be forwarded before the start of term.

Telephones
The School can provide pupils with an individual PIN number for use in the boarding houses. An account will be forwarded to parents at half term (for information) and again at the end of term when the whole amount will be included on the school bill. If you wish your child to have access to a telephone account, could you please advise us? All mobile phones used by pupils are at the parents’ risk. The School cannot take any responsibility for the loss or misuse of mobile phones. Holmwoods Personal Effects Insurance does not cover mobile phones. There is a coin operated phone box in the Red Corridor of the main school building, should this be more convenient.

Music or Tennis lessons
Individual music lessons may be arranged by contacting Nigel Crabtree, Head of Music. Music tuition is to be paid direct to the music teacher in advance and requires one full term’s notice if discontinued. Tennis lessons, both group and individual, should be arranged through Mark Syms who will bill parents direct.

Pocket Money
The amount of £80 is a suggested figure. Variations to this amount, either up or down, should be requested in writing to my office.

Yours sincerely
