Year 11 students turned out in style for their Summer Ball, held at the Langstone Cliff Hotel in Dawlish. After weeks of of careful planning and coordinating (we are, of course, talking about the all-important arrangements for dresses, hairdo’s and exotic modes of transport, as well as Mrs Crook’s efforts in organising the event) the big night finally arrived. We were blessed with fine early evening sunshine as students rolled up in a convoy which included the usual range of classic cars, luxury vehicles, limos and stretched Hummers. There were no caballeros on horseback this year, but a highlight was sight of one group of boys turning up in a bright pink limousine – well done on the challenge to gender stereotyping, boys! It was the start of what became a fantastic night, and we would like to thank the students for their exemplary behaviour throughout. We wish them all every success in their GCSE exams. And thank you, Mrs Crook!
