16th February 2015
The week before half term saw Year 7 football and netball teams in action. As you will see from the match summaries below, written by our Director of Sport, Mrs Gill Sinden, our Year 7’s are really showing the kind of qualities that we value here at Trinity.
Netball v Bramdean
The girls played two teams at Bramdean. The first game against Bramdean A team was extremely close ending in a draw of 9-9. The girls worked extremely well as a team and the shooting was exceptional. The girls then brought out a mixed team to face Bramdean B. The girls used this match to trial new formations and new team members. They worked hard as a team but the trial formations were not as effective as the original set up and they lost 5-0. Overall, the girls showed real determination and put in maximum effort during both games.
Football v Bramdean
The team came back from 1-4 deficit to draw the match 4 – 4. Reverend Jonathon was particularly impressed by our boys’ quality of passing and running into space as well as their commitment to play competitively against Bramdean for the whole match. Not one head went down even when they were losing 4:1 and they showed real team spirit in their fight back. A performance on the pitch to be proud of!
Central Venue Netball League at Paignton
The girls played 4 matches and won all 4 convincingly. They beat Paignton 6-2, Brixham Community College 5 – 1, Churston Grammar School 4 – 0 and Stover 4 – 1. It was a great team performance from all seven girls.
