To further Prep 5’s knowledge of the plant world, they had an agricultural day at Preston Farm, Drewsteignton. They were taught about different crops and what they are used for. It was a very hot day and pupils looked longingly at the sample of beer brewed at Tucker’s Maltings, made from the barley grown on the farm. They were taken on a trailer tour of the farm to learn to recognize the crops growing and to see the layout of forestry in the valley around Fingle Bridge. The tractor wheels were massive! All were in awe of the amazing views and appreciative of the time and effort that Mr Cox had put into the day for the benefit of our pupils.
