Pupils and staff at Trinity School, Teignmouth have been celebrating an outstanding set of A level and BTEC results this year. The pass rate of 98% is a significant increase on previous years with 50% gaining the best grades of A* or A.
Some of the top achieving students included Ben Greenwell with three A’s, Brian Yuen A*AA, Ellie Smith AAB, Anna Summerscales with AB plus BTEC Distinction* and Alex Horswill with an A and three BTEC Distinction*’s.
Headmaster Lawrence Coen, appointed last year, said “I could not be more proud of our students and staff here at Trinity School. Despite the challenge of the change in the examination system, students and staff have adapted and not used it as an excuse. Indeed, we have seen an impressive increase in the top grades which as a non-selective school makes us very comparable to those schools that solely pride themselves on academic rigour. In addition, I know that our students are leaving with much more than a piece of paper. Due to the holistic approach at Trinity and living out our school vision, students know how to be successful in and out of the classroom and have a full range of skills, and excellent results, which make them very employable.”
