Inspirational Speech Day presentation by STEMettes founder

20th August 2015

Our guest speaker,  Anne-Marie Imafidon, the founder and head of STEMettes, delivered an inspirational presentation  to the Trinity School community as part of this year’s Speech Day and Prize Giving celebrations.

Anne-Marie is a high profile young IT professional who, after a remarkable academic record, was driven to set up STEMettes to help combat the lack of women in the ‘STEM’ fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths. STEMettes aims to inspire the next generation by showing them the amazing women already in STEM, using a series of panel events, hackathons, exhibitions, and mentoring schemes to get the message across.

She delivered a passionate and engaging speech which was enthusiastically received by our students, parents and guests, despite the backdrop of the truly challenging weather conditions which threatened to engulf proceedings. She certainly helped to ensure that the day will be remembered as a celebration of student achievement and a fitting summer send-off - especially for our 6th Form leavers - and not for downpours and torrents!
