Trinity students enjoyed a superb day at London's Olympic over the weekend. Representing the South West in the National Swimming finals of the Independent Schools Association, 6 of our students managed to achieve medals. 'Not a bad day!' said swimming coach and Trinity Deputy Head, Mr Lawrence Coen, who encouraged and supported the team throughout the day.
Individual hounours were won as follows:
Fletcher Wickham – Silver in Freestyle Relay (he is only Year 3!)
Phoebe Armes – Silver in individual Backstroke and Breaststroke, and a mangnificent Gold in Freestyle Relay (which she and Evie won last year as well)
Evie Lewis – Gold in Freestyle Relay
Joel Davis – Gold in individual Backstroke, a race in which he was 3rd last year, Silver in Medley Relay, Bronze in Freestyle Relay
Benjamin Coen – Bronze in Freestyle Relay
Ellie Humphrey and Hannah Greenwood – competed in 2 relays and came away with 2 medals! Bronze in Medley relay, Silver in Freestyle Relay.
'So, by my calculations,' added Mr Coen, 'we won 12 medals (3 gold, 6 silver and 3 Bronze). It was a great team effort, and I would like to congratulate all Trinity students for their commitment, and to our medal winners on their success. All our students behaved perfectly, several achieved new PB’s and it was very pleasing to see how the older children looked out for the younger ones.'
