The Sixth Form Team

Saxophone-playing cosmologist, volleyballing mathematician, rowing linguist – to highlight but a few in the team!  The sixth form tutors provide invaluable support academically and personally.  A wealth of experience in commercial fields as well as the academic, ensures that students have access to high quality advice at all times.  Each student is assigned a tutor to provide pastoral and academic support.  Careers advice is provided throughout Year 12 and 13, together with an extensive life skills programme to ensure that students are ready to begin the next phase of their lives fully prepared.  Work experience is arranged as appropriate to the individual’s needs.  Of course, if students do find that they require assistance once they have left Trinity, perhaps references or advice regarding future steps, this is also available.

Sarah Angus

Head of Sixth Form

Former Housemistress, Head of Economics and Business and Oxbridge Tutor, Sarah has had extensive experience teaching and preparing sixth formers for university and careers.  Working in the City of London for a four year ‘GAP’, Sarah has been able to draw on this to provide realistic advice about the workplace, as well as managing finances once students have left home.  Pastoral care is a priority – without this support students are unable to fulfil their potential.  No matter what the issue, understanding and a commitment to assist is provided, so that Trinity Sixth Formers can attain their goals, whichever direction they choose to take.

Lawrence Coen –

Deputy Head of Sixth Form, Director of Sport, Science teacher

Before realising that he was best suited to teaching, Lawrence spent some time playing semi-professional rugby and then four years in business before deciding that he needed to see more of the world and decided to have a GAP year, or two! After working as a project manager for Raleigh International in Belize he travelled around Central America and then completed a water sports instructor’s course on the Isle of Wight and Barbados. He then instructed windsurfing, sailing and kayaking in Exeter. He also completed his Summer Mountain Leader training and worked with the expedition company World Challenge. All of this has exposed him to a wide range of experiences which he uses to help develop sixth form students and make them realise what opportunities are available after school.
